Newcomers
It’s the basics of starting to dance WCS. If you’re new to the dance, you must take this class before Beginners 1. T
Content focus: Six-count rhythms – right-side/left-side pass, sugar push and in-line tuck – and Eight-count rhythms – basic whip and basket.

Beginners 1 & 2
Link your basics together and begin extending patterns with our Beginners 1 and 2 classes taught primarily by Judy Megaffin and CJ Caraway. Before attending this class, students should be able to recognize and perform the basic footwork and hand holds for the six-count and eight-count basics taught in the Newcomers class.
Content focus: connection, foot placement, anchoring and body flight.
Cost: $15 ($10 for Texas Classic members) which covers all Wednesday events – classes and social.

Intermediate
Once you’ve established your fundamentals in Beginner 1 & 2, you’re ready to take it to the next level. Students should be able to execute all basics easily and with proper techniques without demonstration. Instructors, taught primarily by Haley Hauglum and Deon Harrell, will assess the following before accepting you into this class: proper anchor, connection, body lead and follow, feet placement.
Content focus: folds, rock & go, shadow position, variations on the whip, grounding, pitch & intention, body flight, shaping, x-factor
Cost: $15 ($10 for Texas Classic members) which covers all Wednesday events – classes and social.
Time: 7 p.m.
Advanced
Students should be able to do all the aforementioned skills from Beginners to Intermediate and have the ability to build patterns and add unique qualities of movement based on music and partner.
Taught primarily by Haley Hauglum and Deon Harrell, this class is excellent for those wanting to improve on their competitive dance technique or just expand on ways to “get outside the box” through musicality and personalization.
Content focus: basics of musicality, dips/drops, wraps, ducks, transition fluidity, dynamics and move, balance, engagement, conversation, and spins.
Cost: One cost for all – $15 ($10 TCPC)
