It started with dancers wanting to dance …

The history of “The Push” in Dallas is decades old and the stories varied, but one thing is true, it’s a dance that brings people together socially in a fun and friendly environment.

Texas Classic Push Club (Texas Classic) was formed in 1989 by 19 dancers who were members of the Fort Worth Push Club and who wanted to start their own dance club closer to home. New to creating an organization, they worked together on its purpose and on New Year’s Eve 1989, Texas Classic became a reality. 30 years later, Texas Classic still promotes dances through weekly WCS lessons at 2155, as well as monthly socials.

A sincere thank you to the original 19 and their vision for Dallas’ dance community.

Mission Statement
To promote the basic fundamental forms of Push / West Coast Swing there by allowing our dance community to attain their own highest level of dance expression.
